Welcome to lmshelp.fiu.edu for technical assistance with your Blackboard course. A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application that provides instructors with a way to create and deliver content, monitor student participation, and assess student performance. The Learning Management System (LMS) used at FIU is Blackboard Learn.

As a student taking courses using Blackboard, you'll find that the Knowledgebase FAQs are your first resource for answers to our most commonly asked questions. If you're unable to find a solution to the technical issue you're encountering, then our Support Services team will be glad to assist you personally. You may contact us using our email, live chat, phone, or walk-in services. In addition, please be sure to provide us with the following items, in order for us to fully investigate your issue or concern:

  • Your full name and Panther ID.
  • Course and section you're having the issue in.
  • The exact name of the assignment, assessment, etc.
  • Date and time when the issue occurred.
  • Screenshot or video of the issue encountered.
  • Screenshot of the Browser Check results.

If you add and/or drop a course in my.fiu.edu, it can take up to 24 hours for the change to be updated in Blackboard. After 24 hours, if you’re still having an issue with a course you changed during the university's add/drop period please contact FIU Blackboard Support Services.
